HD-110RF Ferrofluid Driver system with round horn
The speaker can be mounted behind
the vehicle grille, under the bumper or in any other concealed
location.
Ferrofluid
Ferrofluid is
truly a space age material, a magnetic fluid, originally created for
lubricating ball bearings in space. The liquid has tiny magnetic particles
attached to the fluid base the way soap attaches to particles of dirt. This
fluid flows toward stronger magnetic fields. In drivers, ferrofluid is placed
in the gap of the magnet.
Because of the fluid’s magnetic properties, it is held in the gap and cannot
run out. The presence of this fluid helps cooling and therefore protects and
prolong the the driver lifespan by improving thermal conductivity
between the coil and the frame. Ferrofluid prevents air movement in the gap
resulting in lower distortion.
The net result is that the loudspeaker can handle greater power input and
produce higher sound levels.
